Introduction to Glass Fusing
Explore the possibilities of fused glass! We’ll learn to cut, fuse and slump glass. We will cover many techniques to create jewelry, functional dishes, wall hangings and decorative art.

Fused Glass Jewelry

Come for a couple hours and learn the creative possibilities of fused glass while you make several pieces of jewelry like glass cabochons, pins, pendants and earrings. NO experience necessary. Beginners are welcome!

Wednesday June 9th, 1-3pm $55
Students will select and cut pieces of colored glass which will be fired to a high temperature where the glass drips and flows into a colorful swirled dish.

This course will introduce students to the possibilities of fused glass. Over 4 weeks, students will learn to cut, fuse and slump glass. We will cover many techniques to create jewelry, functional dishes, wall hangings and decorative art. This class is ideal for beginners and new glass fusers who want to improve their technique and understanding of fused glass.


In this two hour project class, students will carve a mold of their own design and add colored glass frit to make a colorful glass sun catcher or medallion.

Strip cutting is the perfect technique for creating bold linear patterns and precise lines. Students will make several projects while refining their glass cutting skills and learning about design and techniques for strip construction.

Fused Glass-Stacked Squares: Wednesday February 9, 2022 , 1:00pm-3:00pm, 16+
In this 2 hour class students will make a fun geometric dish. You will learn glass cutting basics while creating a unique piece of your own. Gayla will guide you though the steps to make your very own Stacked Square Dish! Pre-registration is required.

Viscosity and Flow
Wednesdays 9:30am – 12:00pm, February 16th – March 9th, Ages 16+
In this 4 week course, students will discover how temperature, volume, and surface tension effect the flow of glass during firing. Learn to utilize the flexible properties of glass to create amazing new works of art.

Geometric Patterns in Glass
All Skill Levels: Young Adults & Adults
Instructor: Gayla Lee
In this class, students will explore geometric shapes, repeating patterns, and tessellations in fused glass. Students will learn methods for designing, measuring, and laying out shapes and patterns, while practicing and refining their glass-cutting skills. No glass working experience is required; advanced students also are welcome. Please note: Advanced students are welcome to take this course and work independently with guidance from the instructor.
Spring Quarter: 7 weeks

All Skill Levels: Young Adults & Adults
Create artworks from layering glass then firing in a kiln to full, tack or slump fuse temperatures.
These classes are great for students who have no previous glass experience or want a refresher on basic skills. Discover the art of kiln-forming including types of glass and basic principles of compatibility. Learn the hand tools and equipment for scoring, cutting, coldworking, etching and shaping glass. Choose from opal, transparent, iridized and streaky sheet glass, frit (crushed glass) and glass stringers. Students will learn design concepts and how to choose which technique will best accomplish their goal. Focus will be on process and exploring possibilities that can be achieved with glass. Please note: Advanced students are welcome to take this course and work independently with guidance from the instructor.
